The Jets acquired Don Barber in exchange for Doug Smail early in the 1990-1991 season and he played briefly with the Jets for parts of two seasons before being claimed off waivers by the Quebec Nordiques. He finished his NHL career in 1991-1992 with a 12-game stint as a member of the San Jose Sharks.
