Claimed from Vancouver Canucks in Expansion Draft, June 13, 1979.
The Jets selected winger Hilliard Graves from the Vancouver Canucks with the last choice of the 1979 Expansion Draft. He spent only one season in the Jets' organization and retired following the 1979-1980 season. He broke into the NHL with the California Golden Seals in 1970-1971 and also played for the Atlanta Flames before being traded to the Canucks. He was once described by teammate Jimmy Mann as the dirtiest player he had ever played with.
