Signed as a free agent, March 10, 1978. Rights retained prior to Expansion Draft, June 9, 1979.
Late in the 1977-1978 season, Mike Amodeo signed with the Jets and filled the roster spot left by the departed Thommie Bergman. Amodeo had been with Orebro IK in Sweden and was regarded as the best defenseman in Sweden before being recruited by Dr. Gerry Wilson to come to Winnipeg. Amodeo played a supporting role on the last two Jets' AVCO Cup championship teams and he remained with the Jets in their first NHL season.
