I-494 serves as the southern beltway around the Twin Cities, starting and ending at I-94/I-694. I-494 passes the Mall of America, Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport and the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, but avoids both Minneapolis and Saint Paul completely. Western Terminus: Junction of I-94/I-694 in Maple Grove. Eastern Terminus: Junction of I-94/I-694 in Woodbury. Multiplexes: MN 5 follows I-494 for 11 miles from Eden Prairie to the Fort Snelling National Cemetery northeast of Bloomington. Click here to show the route.
