How You Acted

During the previous war, many ordinary Germans sat in silence as their Jewish neighbors, many of whom they got along well with before Hitler came to power, were hauled off by the Gestapo. Relocated to family camps in the East, they were officially told. But in reality, to be gassed in places like Auschwitz and Treblinka. Some of those Germans genuinely didn’t know the Jews’ ultimate fate. Many did. And they chose to remain silent. Some of them, in fact, silently cheered.
Fast forward to present day.
I looked out my front window this morning and realized that, as the only person on my block who had not taken poison, the same thing could very well have happened here. And nearly did.
Everyone on the block bought into it, hook, line and sinker. Many were under mandates to take it or lose their jobs, but they hardly needed them. On one side is a neighbor who had a bottle of hand sanitizer outside her front door for the entire duration of the war. The couple across the street, both of whom are on the Sunshine List, were likely among the first to line up to be part of the world’s largest medical experiment, probably bringing their kids and every member of their large, extended family along for the ride as well. Today, all of them are undoubtedly shot up with as many boosters as the government will give them. They never once contemplated asking their union for protection from those mandates. Quite the contrary, they were fully on board as the union was in lockstep with the employer. The same union that would have ordered them onto the picket line at the drop of a hat if the employer failed to meet even one of their outrageous demands, yet didn’t lift a finger to defend their most basic human rights.
Next door to them is a couple with no less enthusiasm and proudly boasted about being fully indoctrinated into the vaccine cult. She undoubtedly has drawn no connection between her recent battle with breast cancer and other assorted health problems to the injections she so cheerfully took without question. And next to her is an elderly lady who was wearing a mask while going for her daily walk. Outside.
These are all people who would have been sitting in their living rooms silently cheering if armed militiamen had come to take me away to a concentration camp. In fact, every one of them would likely have used the snitch line to report me as a nonconformist. A dangerous, subversive element who needs to be placed in protective custody for his own good.
No different than those ordinary Germans.
A chilling warning that the horrors of Hitler’s Germany could and are being repeated.
