Niagara Anti-War Convoy

January 23, 2022

Today, I joined thousands of others as part of an anti-war convoy beginning in Fort Erie and ending in St. Catharines. Though I was disappointed to miss the scheduled speeches, I was awestruck by the number of people who packed the expansive parking lot at Walmart in Fort Erie. Many had signs, and I went around taking pictures before joining the convoy.

Many along the route were cheering us on:

After returning to St. Catharines, I joined a group at the overpass at Niagara Street, where I got a shot of the many who turned out to support the cause.

In addition, I shot some video before, during and after exiting the convoy:

Though the mainstream media conveniently ignored this and many other similar events this weekend (no surprise), rest assured the likes of Justin Trudeau and his Liberal buddy Doug “Closed for Business” Ford were paying attention. Trudeau might have backed himself into a corner by turning up the heat on the truckers, and Ford, the conservative-turned-socialist, who is facing an election this summer, has to be getting nervous. No doubt, the vast majority of those in the convoy were supporters of Ford’s in 2018, many of whom likely donated to his campaign and knocked on doors for him. From his perspective, this could very well be called a convoy of lost votes.

The anti-war movement is growing. Those politicians who continue to ignore it risk being fired by the same voters they’ve so cruelly put out of work.
