Ode to a Defeated Premier

Greg Selinger and his party ruled Manitoba with an iron fist.Finally, his subjects became royally pissed.
He said "no new taxes" when he ran before.
Then he socked it to us more and more.
So hated he became, many in his party staged a coup.
To us and them he said "F-you."
Desperation ruled his doomed campaign.
He resorted to calling his rivals many a name.
Stubborn and arrogant to his last day.
Only after a resounding defeat would he go away.
Good riddance to bad rubbish is how I feel.
But the gored treasury will need a generation to heal.
A legacy of failure and debt led to his rout.
Don't let the door hit you on your way out.
