Traded to Jets with Mike Hartman and Dean Kennedy by Buffalo Sabres for Dave McLlwain, Gord Donnelly, Winnipeg's 5th round choice in 1992 Entry Draft and future considerations, October 11, 1991.
The Jets acquired winger Darrin Shannon in October 1991 and he remained with the Jets through their final season in 1995-1996. He moved with the team to Arizona and played two seasons for the relocated franchise before winding up his playing career in the minor leagues following the 1999-2000 season. Shannon was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1988 and he made his NHL debut with the Buffalo Sabres in 1988-1989 following a trade in November 1988.
