#28 - Craig Muni

Craig Douglas Muni
Position: Defense
Born July 19, 1962 in Toronto, Ontario
Height: 6' 3" Weight: 208
Traded to Jets by Buffalo Sabres for Darryl Shannon and Michal Grosek, February 15, 1996.
The Jets acquired defenseman Craig Muni late in the 1995-1996 season and he spent the rest of that year with the Jets. Following the franchise's relocation to Arizona, he signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins as a free agent and wound up his playing career a year later as a member of the Dallas Stars. He was originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1980, but after five seasons in the Leafs' organization, he signed with the Edmonton Oilers in the summer of 1986 and spent most of seven seasons with the Oilers. While in Edmonton, he became noted as one of the dirtiest players in the game and wrecked many knees, including one belonging to former Jet Hannu Jarvenpaa. His acquisition by the Jets was one of the most distasteful trades the team ever made.
