#30 - Curt Larsson

Curt Larsson
Position: Goaltender
Born December 11, 1944 in Nykoping, Sweden
Height: 5' 11" Weight: 171
Curt Larsson spurned an offer from the California Golden Seals to become the fourth Swede to sign with the Jets in the summer of 1974. After 10 seasons starring with Sodertalje SK, Larsson spent the next three seasons with the Jets in a backup role and he returned to Sweden following the 1976-1977 season. He played two more years with Sodertalje before winding up his playing career. He never played goal until he was 16 years old, when he substituted for an injured teammate, and he worked as a carpet layer before becoming a pro hockey player. While with the Jets, he rented his house in Sweden to former Jet Milt Black, who was playing in Sweden at the time. He was described by Free Press writer Reyn Davis as “a snuff chewing prankster who takes a fiendish delight in creeping up behind a teammate and emitting the most dog-like bark ever heard as he grabs a leg”.
