Born March 23, 1940 in St. Boniface, Manitoba

The Jets acquired veteran defenseman Ted Green from the New England Whalers in the summer of 1975 and he quickly established himself as a leader and as a valued member of the Jets' defense corps. He helped lead the Jets to three consecutive trips to the AVCO Cup finals, winning twice, before being forced to retire midway through the 1978-1979 season due to problems with arthritic knees. Prior to joining the Jets, Green had played ten full seasons with the Boston Bruins and three seasons with the New England Whalers. While with the Bruins in September 1969, he nearly had his skull fractured in a stick fight with Wayne Maki.
