Thank you for putting the time and effort into this site. I really enjoyed reading the entire site and all the old memories it brought back. As a kid I watched the jets in the WHA and still remember the anger I felt when Hawerchuck, Babych, and Selanne were traded. I often wished that Selanne had been kept and that bum Tkachuk had been dealt instead. I noticed that you didn't mention that in that 7 game series the Jets lost to Edmonton 2 of the Oilers wins which were both 1 goal victories came after one goal was given to Edmonton even though the puck hit the post and never entered the net and in the other game the replay showed the jets scored but the refs let play continue and the goal never counted. The Jets actually defeated Edmonton 4 games to 2 and 1 game was tied. Edmonton went on to win the Stanley cup.

Yesterday April 27th the Red Wings eliminated the Coyotes in the 7th game of their playoff series so the losing legacy continues. Ironic that the Jets were the class of the WHA but as the NHL Jets and later Coyotes have had little success for 30 years in the NHL.

I live in Michigan but thanks to Detroit's proximity to Windsor I'm able to watch Hockey Night in Canada & saw the Jets play a number of times and earlier saw them when they were in the WHA. I recall the big hype when Bobby Kromm came from the Jets to coach the Red Wings in 1977. I miss the Jets and it was sad when they moved to Phoenix. I watched on TV the last game they played against the Wings during the 1996 playoffs. It was a nice tribute that the fans there gave the team & it was a moving moment when the players came back on the ice to say farewell. A couple of Ex WHA Jets played for the Wings: Swedes Danny Labraaton & Thommie Bergman. FYI.... Bergam broke in with us in 1972.

You shouldn't hate the "Screaming weasels" so much. We've embraced the past of the franchise and are proud to have the Winnipeg Jets here in Coyote form. As for "stealing" the white out. We're honoring the Jets, not taking anything from them. We're proud that we still have Shane Doan, One of the last Jets. The fact that he was a Jet is very widely known among Coyotes fans. Don't hate Arizona for giving the jets someplace to go. Hate yourselves for losing them in the first place.

I TURNED 50 IN 2009 .I LIVE IN SHARK COUNTRY, BUT I HAVE BECOME A DUCKS FAN WITH TEEMU'S RETURN TO SOCAL. A WEEK BEFORE MY VOICE BOX WAS TAKEN OUT DUE TO CANCER I FLEW TO SEE MY DUCKS BEAT S.J. 4-0 IT WAS THE DUCKS FIRST WIN THAT SEASON . JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED.
